About Meadville Land Service, Inc.

In 1998, Robin Ernst’Phillis and Paul Phillis launched Meadville Land Service, Inc. The driving spirit of the company began long before that when Robin, working with her father Calvin, founder of Ernst Conservation Seeds, developed an appreciation for how native plant communities work together. Combined with Paul’s knowledge of heavy equipment, the company bloomed into what it is today - a full service “Mobile Restoration Company” specializing in the construction, restoration, and mitigation of streams and wetlands, as well as native planting, seeding, and the installation of bioengineering material.

Field Staff

MLS project supervisors and operators are fully acquainted with the principles of Natural Stream Channel Design, and are skilled in the specialized construction techniques and quality controls essential to successfully construct a project to meet or exceed its intended goals.

MLS project supervisors work closely with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders, and coordinate with all parties involved to resolve any unforeseen construction issues to keep the project moving on schedule and within budget. Furthermore, they take the extra step to educate local residents about what a project is intended to resolve and how it will benefit the continued stewardship of the environment.

MLS takes pride in our equipment, purchased specifically for minimal disturbance to the site and adapted to specific performance. Additionally, our operators are highly skilled in their use. In their years with MLS, they have honed their skills in channel excavation and grading, setting stream structures, and achieving the precise grade tolerances required in constructing wetlands.
