Powder Mill Interceptor Improvements and Stream Restoration
Completed in 2021 for City of Baltimore, MD
The largest and one of the longest projects ever completed by Meadville Land Service, Powder Mill Stream Restoration was a success in engineering and construction. The project, completed in 2021, included more than 12,000 linear feet of stream restoration and 15,000 cubic yard of dirt removal while restoring more than 10 acres of wetland by improving hydrology, incorporating native planting, and hydroseeding. MLS worked as a subcontractor to a large sewer contractor on this project, which often presents challenges, especially on a project of this scale. MLS coordinated with the prime to utilize each other’s access points and access roads, ultimately saving the project time and costs. The restoration took just 14 months to complete, and came in under the original contracted value.
