It has been brought to my attention by several project supervisors that there is a lack of equipment pre-trips being done in the mornings before starting the day.
If you don’t know what a pre-trip inspection is – Do a walk around your piece of equipment including excavator, track truck, skid steer or pick up truck. Look for any issues, leaks, torn tracks, loose tracks, flat tires, undercarriage issues, idlers. Check all fluids including motor oil, hydraulic oil, and antifreeze. Grease your equipment daily. Also please make sure you are cleaning out the pick ups on Thursday when you get back. There is a dumpster, throw away your garbage and take everything out of the truck that belongs to you.
Equipment is the operator’s responsibility, no questions. If you find a problem during your pre-trip, let your project manager know about it. We will also be implementing a pre-trip inspection report within the next month.
